What Represents True Self
Related: True Satisfaction is Found From Within
What truly represents who we are?
There are thoughts that enter one’s mind, which one truly does not want. Are all thoughts that circulate through one’s mind truly representative of one’s core being? There are thoughts that enter one’s mind, yet one truly does not like and does not want those thoughts. For example, thoughts of anger. Does one enjoy or like having thoughts of anger? No. So if one does not approve of certain thoughts, then why does one choose to let those thoughts circulate through one’s mind, and even at times let them affect one’s words and deeds? A general example is thoughts which take control of an individual, and result in a situation in which that one later regrets.
There are thoughts that occur within my mind, which I do not consider representative of true self, such as those thoughts which are caused by biological processes.
I see my true self as separate from my body, brain, and genetic composition and all thoughts due to those things.
I aim to distinguish them, between which thoughts represent “true self” and which do not.
Also, existing in this realm, at this point within, I am exposed to its environment, and all associated variables, which are all external to myself. And these variables, without effort, influence my thought processes.
What truly represents the self with respect to internal thoughts?
There are thoughts that occur within our head. There may be thoughts that occur within our minds, yet we do not favor. Therefore, do those thoughts represent the people we really are? The thoughts obviously do not represent the person we want to be.
So what truly represents who we are?
There are thoughts that occur within your mind that you approve, and those that you do not. Sometimes we act on the thoughts we do not approve.
Many factors influence the way we think, instigating thoughts that we approve of and do not approve of.
There may be times where we approve of a thought at one point in time, yet disapprove of it later, as the different influential variables change over time.
Definitions and Theory about true self
True self: The non-wandering mind. The person you want to be. The part remaining when all external interferences are removed.
Sexual urge and hunger urge are parts separate from true self. They do not represent true self, the person you really are. Satisfaction of hunger urge is necessary for continuation of existence of self. Satisfaction of sexual urge is not necessary for continuation of existence of self. But as a function of society, satisfaction of sexual urge oriented towards sexual reproduction is necessary for continuation of existence of species.
Therefore, with respect to continuation of existence of self, satisfaction of hunger urge is necessary and satisfaction of sexual urge is not.
Now, 1. True self and 2. Sexual urge are two separate entities, and when you give in to sexual urge, you let that entity win. You – true self – lose. To be master of mind you must win over all unnecessary external influences upon true self.
Running the gauntlet of life, start to end
How to live through your innermost, true self?
You need to spend time asking who your true self is. You need to look at that person. See your true self as a person. Realize that person is within you. Realize that you are that person, and you can live as that person.
Ask yourself, what does it mean to live as your true self, how does it feel, how do you think about your desires?
Sometimes it is hard to find that true self certain times, when other aspects of your mind want to intervene and take predominance.
What is True Self?
You is composed of:
- true self
- outer shell, or surroundings
To get to the true self,
you strip away the outer shell
All those psychological burdens keep you from realizing your true self and true freedom.
Release and Control
you control and yet at the same time you release. by releasing, you control. These two words appear as antonyms of each other. If one thinks of releasing, or letting control of something, then one might think that that means losing control of what they are letting go of. And that is true, the aspect that you let go is no longer in your control, but it is also no longer part of you. Now to control something, by actually restraining something, is not letting go. So, to release is to be in control. But to be in control does not mean to release.
Think about it this way. There are attachments to you, things that are attached to who you are. You don't consider these things as part of who you are, and they are also controlling who you are, and what you do. Your goal is to be in control of yourself, or your definition of you, and not to be in control of these external things that are attached to you. So how do you achieve this? You can cut off, detach, remove, and release those things that are attached to you. By cutting them off, releasing them, and watching them leave your presence. You are regaining control of yourself. Therefore, by releasing, you are controlling.
Control to become stronger
It is interesting how one may let oneself go so that one can feel good in the short term or to evade the present. But the more one lets oneself go, one gradually feels worse. The more you let yourself go, the worse you feel and the weaker you become. And the more you control yourself, the better you feel, and the stronger you become. And yet you can become stronger by letting go. Letting go in terms of letting your life sprial out of control by giving in to desires and temptations and by procrastinating is bad. Letting go in terms of letting things pass through you, and letting the desires leave you is in a sense getting control over who you are.
Some More Diagrams Attempting to Depict True Self
The bottom picture here represents an analogy. You know who you are right? Do other people comprise you? No. But you and other people comprise a society. Same thing with your true self. Your true self is in there, but there are other things in your mind that also come in to play like emotions, desires, wants, feelings, interests, etc. All of these things interacting together represent you. But your true self is a separate entity, like you are from other humans, even though a society may behave to represent input from many humans including yourself.
See Yourself From Outside Yourself
Related: Developing a Wider Perspective, Letting Go
Try and watch and observe yourself from outside of yourself. Imagine that you are not you, and that you are actually an entity outside of yourself, watching yourself. What do you see? Just as if you were watching another person. Are you acting sensibly? Morally? Ethically? Justly, Logically? What kind of person do you see?
Think of all the emotional loops you jump through. Then see yourself outside of yourself, watching you. What is it worth?
Think of the emotional hardships, emotional strains, and emotional struggles that you place upon yourself. Because no one gives them to you - you create them and place them upon yourself - like placing heavy stones, or weights upon yourself, voluntarily. Why would you do that? Why would you voluntarily place a 200 lb weight on your back, and then carry that around all day? You have no reason to. So why place such heavy emotional burdens upon yourself? Because that's what they are - all the intense feelings, emotions, and desires that come into your being, and that you let envelop you, and in essence weigh down on you - you voluntarily let this happen.
You can have a clean mind, or have can have a dirty, cluttered, congested mind, that is filled with heavy burden. You have the ability to choose whether or not you possess that burden.
by removing emotions, feelings, and desires, you become free. if you can go so far as to remove fear, anger, physical and mental pain and pleasure - then you become ultimately free.
picture yourself lifting off these weights, as if light feathers - so light that they just blow away.
look at yourself and everything else from a point higher, above earth looking down what do you see and how you relate to everyone else?
The Watcher
Who is the watcher?
The watcher within you, who sees and knows.
The watcher sees all your behavior.
The watcher knows all sides.
Ever present.
Vigilent.
Observer.
Steady.
Silent.
Indifferent.
The Watcher.
The watcher is part of your true self.
The watcher sees, but does not react.
The watcher is aware.
Taking into account some related concepts
One naturally experiences tendencies, desires, wants, lusts.
Things will naturally act upon you.
Subconsciously thoughts will arise within your mind.
There is a person deep down inside, that represents your true essence of being.
You experience phases of mind, where an action may be perceived as “good”, “satisfying” or “pleasuring” at one point in time and “bad”, “negative”, or “destructive” at another point in time.
Therefore you experience thoughts that may contradict each other at different points in time.
We are biological, chemical.
The things we take in, affect the way we think – food, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, etc.
Activities we partake in or indulge in may affect the way we think.
What represents the true self?
Does one want to be in control?
In control of oneself?
In control of the things around oneself?
Or, does one want to be out of control?
Does one truly desire to be out of control?
If we let the natural tendencies, desires, wants, and lusts act on us, and we let our thought, word, and deed be reflected by these natural tendencies, then are we in control?
If one could remove these natural tendencies from the mind, then would one be liberated?
These natural tendencies act upon the mind, and when we indulge in them, we feel pleasure as we are indulging. Afterwards, after the fact, we may regret that decision.
Are there individuals who are satisfied by always indulging in their natural tendencies, whenever they are imposed upon the mind?
It appears as though there is a large majority of the population who, over time, can be sculpted by the powers who control – government, media, corporate executives.
The masses, as a whole seem to not realize it, or if they do, seem to not care enough to do anything about it. If they do realize it, then they are not knowledgeable enough about conditions.
Cognition
Who you truly want to be
Who you truly want to be, on the inside, is who you truly are.
The things that you want, temporarily, seek to fulfill, sometimes fulfill, and if fulfilled, later regret, are the things that control you. You are not being free, by giving in to these temptations, wants, and desires, but instead your are being slave to these temptations, wants, and desires. You are the slave when you allow these things to control your thought, word, and deed. These things are distortions, and are not representative of true self.

Taking Away To Uncover True Self or not
The influence of sexual thought is easy to identify because the source is known. The balls make sperm. The sperm is directly correlated with sexual thought. The more sperm that is produced, the greater the tendency of sexual thought to enter the mind. It is known where the sexual thought comes from, where it originates from. So is sexual thought representative of self? What is representative of self? Sexual thought, too, can be controlled by a physical process. Sexual stimulation and removal of sperm quell the weight of sexual desire. Eating quells the weight of hungry thoughts. A good night’s sleep lets the mind think more clearly. Actions come first from thoughts. How can one continue to think and behave in a rational manner if food and water are continually withheld? If sleep is continually withheld? What if mobility is continually withheld? As time goes on, and these things are continually withheld, it will become harder and harder for one to maintain sane and rational thoughts and behaviors. This is the human.
Difficulty of Getting to the Center
you are exposed to all of the human elements.
as a little child, you have no meta conscious.
as an adolescent, you have no meta conscious.
all this while, always during your existence, you are exposed always to the human elements:
talking, interaction, emotion, language, all the dynamics of communication and interaction with the environment: people, places, and things.
therefore, while you have not yet developed a meta conscious, these things are acting on you, and shaping you, because you do not yet have a meta conscious to recognize that you are even being shaped by the environment.
this constant exposure, throughout your whole life, always, makes it almost an ingrained part of you, and almost impossible task to reverse.
you become your environment, all that you have experienced over the years.
these things become layered upon you, layer by layer, and cover your true self.
from a baby you grow to an adult
as your intelligence increases, your true self becomes covered
by the time you develop a meta conscious, it becomes extremely difficult to strip away the layers
But, the outer layers are easiest, as you get closer towards the center it becomes increasingly more difficult.
many people may say that they are their true self, even though who they are reflects many of the experiences and interactions they have encountered throughout their life.
true self is not shaped; it just is
true self cannot be influenced by external sources, it is pure.
Shaping the mind
Shaped
Shaping of the mind
How is the mind shaped?
As one’s mind is shaped, one also is interacting with other minds that are being shaped. Actually, everyone’s mind is continually being shaped. One’s mind always has the capacity to be shaped, if one so chooses, one can shape their mind any way they want. As one ages, the mind tends to be shaped at a slower and slower rate.
The Mind is the System
The mind is the system. Everything outside the mind is the surroundings. If the five senses: taste, touch, smell, sound, sight, are removed, then the mind is detached from the surroundings.
What Defines Who We Are
You is your true self
Your surroundings are made up of external surroundings and internal surroundings.
Your external surroundings is the environment outside of your body.
Your internal surroundings is made up of your body and your mind.
You are always being shaped by your surroundings.
But, you are a unique type of clay, in that you have the ability to change your own form.
You have the ability to return your form to a position it was in before being shaped by a hand, but never to the same exact position.
This is in part due to the fact that you retain interactions with the surroundings in the form of memories.
Being Shaped by Your Memories
One shouldn’t let oneself be shaped by one’s memories. One should not let the way one feels or acts be a result of the memories one has accumulated. Your memories may be rekindled in your mind. And by recalling memories, feelings or emotions might be experienced in response. I want to mentally escape the worldly mindset. A problem is that everyone that one interacts with also has a worldly mindset, so this doesn’t help any.
your memories form who you are
more recent memories have a stronger influence on you
the more traumatic a memory is the stronger influence it has on you
the more an event or memory occurs the stronger an influence it has to shape you
Memory, what defines who one is
your memories make you who you are.
everything you have experienced and was once part of you but is now forgotten, what is the significance of those things that you have forgotton and are no longer a part of you?

What forms who a person is?
Over time, one accumulates memories.
Certain memories are withheld better than others.
Over time, one may change based on the memories that are accumulated.
Obviously, one goes through actions, whereby those actions are recorded into memory.
Although, it seems as though as one ages, one develops a more solidified personality, and with time, one is less changed by the events one encounters.
As one is young and is developing one is more easily shaped by what one experiences
As one is young one is especially shaped by the home life, or the people who one is around the most.
for any given person, place, or thing, you build a profile of it in your mind.
therefore, you can recall it and even experience it just be recalling the compilation of past memories regarding it in your mind.
who anything is, is what you create of it in your mind.
what something is and what it means to you is how you choose to interpret it in your mind.
who is anyone to you?
it is the compilation of memories regarding any one particular thing, to create a definition of that particular thing.
how does a computer build knowledge of something?
it gets a more accurate description by the more knowledge it has about a particular thing.
look at cgi and stuff it goes from human's minds into the "computer's mind"
therefore, it can no longer exist in the human's mind, while it is now stored in the computer's mind.
a person can no longer exist but experiences and memories can be stored in your mind such that you recreate the person that no longer exists.
something exists.
if there are receptors, and they come into contact with that something, then to a more or lesser degree, the system with receptors will process information regarding that something, and will reproduce that something in one form or another, to a lesser degree than that something.
humans have receptors, for receiving inputs, they have processing systems for processing those inputs, and they also have senders for projecting outward those processed inputs, or interpreted inptus, which become outputs.
a person is just a person, nothing more, nothing less.
but it is a person, that makes another person, more than just a person.
